Citizens Advice Bureau
The Citizens Advice Bureau Service offers free, confidential, impartial and independent advice. Every Citizens Advice Bureau is a registered charity reliant on volunteers. Citizens Advice Bureaux help solve nearly six million new problems every year which are central to people's lives, including debt and consumer issues, benefits, housing, legal matters, employment, and immigration.

Banking/Financial Ombudsman
The Financial Ombudsman Service provides consumers with a free, independent service for resolving disputes with financial firms. The body investigates complaints from bank customers against the service they have received. The financial ombudsman also now deals with complaints about insurance policies and services.

Financial Services Authority (FSA)
The Financial Services Authority (FSA) are an independent body that regulates the financial services industry in the UK. They also aim to maintain efficient, orderly and clean financial markets and help retail consumers achieve a fair deal.

General Insurance Standards Council (GISC)
The General Insurance Standards Council (GISC) is the Watchdog for General Insurance Industry. It is an independent, non-statutory organisation that was officially launched on 3 July 2000 to regulate the sales, advice and service standards of its members. GISC members may be insurers or intermediaries or others involved in general insurance such as claims handlers. Their main purpose is to make sure that general insurance customers are treated fairly.

Inland Revenue
The Inland Revenue are responsible for the administration of income tax, corporation tax, capital gains tax, petroleum revenue tax, inheritance tax, national insurance contributions and stamp duties. They are also responsible for the payment of Working Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit and Child Benefit. The Inland Revenue also have a range of electronic services for individuals, employers and agents. Check with the Inland Revenue to check out if you are entitled to any tax breaks or tax credits.
